Mechanical Assembly
Enabling scientific discovery in extreme environments
Our team of engineers and technicians handle precise mechanical assembly of systems designed for extreme environments — ultra-high vacuum, cryogenics, radiation

From the meticulous adjustment of individual components to the complete final assembly, we ensure the reliable integration of complex mechanical systems. Our expertise covers the full process of assembling high-precision accelerator equipment such as beamlines, cryostats, and diagnostic systems. By combining precision engineering with rigorous procedures, we deliver assemblies that meet demanding requirements of cleanliness, precision and performance, from small-size components to larger-scale installations.
In collaboration with MME metrology team, we carry out alignment operations with micron-level precision, relying on custom-designed jigs, state-of-the-art laser tracking systems, and dedicated assembly areas. Every assembly undergoes rigorous quality control procedures and is fully documented through traceability protocols. This meticulous approach guarantees that each system is ready for seamless integration into CERN’s cutting-edge scientific infrastructure.

The close synergy with our machining workshop ensure a seamless flow of components and materials but also allows prompt corrective actions or rework on components when necessary. Through our integrated approach with the design office and materials science laboratory, we can develop and implement effective technical solutions to address a broad range of assembly challenges.
